Where You’ll Film

Caucasus Cinema will spend a week in each of five locations throughout the Republic of Georgia. We’ll also have an orientation and final screening in Tbilisi, where participants will meet the rest of Georgia’s vibrant film community.

The itinerary has been selected to take full advantage of Georgia’s diverse landscapes and history.

About Georgia

The Republic of Georgia is located on the eastern shore of the Black Sea, neighboring Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. The landscape is incredibly varied, ranging from the soaring Greater Caucasus mountains to subtropical beachsides.

Georgian culture has been influenced by its central location between empires, having incorporated influences from the Persian, Turkish, Arabian, Russian and British Empires into its distinct identity.

On a practical note, the cost of living in Georgia is approximately 75% more affordable than Western European equivalents.

The Heart of Film in Eurasia

“Georgian film is a completely unique phenomenon, vivid, philosophically inspiring, very wise, childlike. There is everything that can make me cry and I ought to say that it (my crying) is not an easy thing.”
— Federico Fellini
