Caucasus Cinema brings together passionate filmmakers and artists for total immersion in their craft.
You have one goal - to make the best possible film, whether you’re directing or part of the cast and crew.
This requires collaboration and improvisation, as well as trust and generous support of other people’s visions - so they bring the same energy to your projects.
This isn’t a classroom, we are just making films round the clock. The other participants are bringing the same intensity and commitment, but with complementary skills.
You’re encouraged to take risks and try new skills, while sharing experience and talents. At the end of the day, you’ll be amazed by what you can create in a week.
Our instagram is the best place to see what it’s like day to day.
-
You can come for a portion of the dates, but we require you commit to at least three weeks, so you have time to fully participate and make the most of Cinema Caucasus’ unique, immersive structure.
-
Our website (www.caucasuscinema.com) will have the latest info and our instagram (@caucasus.cinema) is a great place to see more info.

Caucasus Cinema will arrange sleeping accommodations in the various municipal sports halls and schools, with access to bathrooms, electric outlets and showers.
We also often stay in a pair of empty village houses.
You will be provided with an inflatable bed and a sleeping bag.
We suggest you bring a sheet and pillow and anything else to sleep comfortably.
-
Caucasus Cinema is free, which includes a place to sleep, and transportation between towns.
You’ll need to pay for your own food and any other expenses during the trip. That said, we are usually cooking so the cost is low and we make sure there are always affordable options to make sure money is not an obstacle in our little world. -
Participants are expected to bring their own equipment, including computers.
Often, collaborations factor in who has what equipment, and you’re likely to be able to find what you need from other participants.
Caucasus Cinema will do it’s best to provide auxiliary equipment such as lights and sound kits, but their availability is not guaranteed. -
Yes. While you should be responsible for yourself and your things, Georgia is a welcoming, safe and open society. We have done this program for five sessions without any serious incidents.
We do reserve the right to kick out any participants who put themselves or others in any dangerous situations.Currently, there is a political crisis in Georgia, where many of our participants themselves have been protesting in the streets. We do not see this as a danger or an obstacle to our program, which is in the regions in any case.
That said, the future is unpredictable and we will continue to improvise and solve any logistical problems that come our way. We do not think your safety will not be effected by the political situation and we will cancel the program if that changes.
